Author visit and Black History Month

Welcome back and Happy New Year!!! I hope everyone had a restful break and are happily getting back into the groove. My break was awesome and I am back pumped up for our next author visit. With Black History Month fast approaching I'm really excited to introduce our next visiting author/illustrator Don Tate. Don Tate is an award winning author and the illustrator of numerous critically acclaimed children's books. He also founded the blog The Brown Bookshelf which was created to push awareness of the many African American voices writing for young people. Don will be visiting with our K through 8th grade classes on Thursday, February 2nd. (Day 8) We are so excited to have Don kick off our Black History Month and I know our students are gonna be blown away with his presentations. Please take a look at the titles he will be sharing below.
