Hello Pilgrim staff and students and welcome back to your library! It's really been an amazing break but it's great to be back in the place to be. Did you know that April is National Poetry Month. I have a deep love for poetry so this is one of my favorite months of the year. This entire month in the library we will be immersing ourselves in the beauty of the spoken word. We will be reading and examining many different genres of poetry, and creating our own original works. This will all culminate into a small poetry slam event where students will be reading their own pieces in front of an audience of their peers. Stay tuned for dates and times so that you can support our students on this writing adventure. Do you have some favorite poems? Please share them below. Here is one of mine:
"Love is the voice
under all silences,
the hope which has
no opposite in fear;
the strength so strong
mere force is feebleness:
the truth more first than sun,
more last than star..."
-E.E. Cummings
